Johns love of all thing DIY lead him to start tattooing 1993. He worked in shops in New York and Boston, before opening his own shop in Portland, Maine in 2006. John Is a Loving husband, a father to five amazing children, and has most recently become the proud owner of his own organic farm. John is excited about his newest venture where he combines his love of vintage and his eye for fashion, with a new line of handcrafted screen printed apparel.

Gemma's hair embodies her spirit. A fiery redhead with a love for dogs, a cross stitching aficionado, and a bicycle enthusiast; she has been tattooing since 2009. She apprenticed with John at Made Rite for two years. Gemma also studied creative writing at Emerson College before finding her niche with the needle. She is passionate about her work, and is grateful that she can invest her time and energy doing something that she loves.
